WHAT WE DO
Why This Matters
Trauma is not only a personal struggle, it can shape families, communities, and entire societies, and it can even pass from one generation to the next.
Factors affecting young adults
According to Sapien Labs, a global research organization studying mental health trends, four main factors are worsening mental health among young adults:
- weaker family relationships
- decline in spirituality
- earlier exposure to smartphones
- high consumption of ultra-processed food
Young people increasingly lack close family relationships, which raises the risk of emotional and psychological challenges. At the same time, lower levels of spirituality are associated with poorer emotional functioning, while its presence has a protective effect.
Statistics that reveal the need
- 1 in 8 people worldwide lives with a mental disorder
- 41 percent of young adults experience serious psychological difficulties
- only 10 percent of people aged 55 and older fall into the same category
Behind every statistic is a real person. Someone you may know.
